Import Requirements from Jira and Generate

Goal: an existing Jira backlog into a scored design, without retyping anything.

Needs

Medium plan and above, and a Jira connection.

1. Import the Epic

On Design Inputs, choose Import from Jira and pick the epic. Its stories arrive as draft requirements; nothing counts yet. (Details)

2. Curate Before You Generate

Ten minutes of editing beats regenerating twice:

  • Keep the stories that state what the solution does; discard process items ("refine backlog", "spike").
  • Split compound stories: one capability per requirement.
  • Add what the backlog never says: data classes, regulations, and resilience targets in the input fields; backlogs are notoriously silent on the things auditors ask first.

3. Generate and Decide

Run the design, decide any gaps, and review the result. Requirement traceability now runs unbroken: from the imported story, to the component implementing it, to the compliance evidence, and later to the delivery stories that carry your requirements as acceptance criteria; which can export right back to Jira.

Round Trip

Backlog in, governed design out, work items back into the same tracker: the full circle is two explicit imports/exports and one run.
